This afternoon, I went to check in on Instagram — and was blocked with the following screens —
Yep, new European Union regulations going into effect about hohw personal data can be used and META is responding by making an ad-free version available, at a charge. So the question that has to be asked is, is it worth it? Is this a platform or service worth paying for? There ARE such things out there, but one must ask, #METAisItYou?
This is only available in the EU; ours are the only accounts affected by this (which is why I think the decisions it relates to the privacy regulations that the EU has had in place and actually enforces).
I am yet to be convinced of the value of Insta as a paid service, especially as a struggling artist trying to leverage the possible exposure it offers.

… should META continue and require similar decisions for EU Facebook users, the traffic here will likely increase dramatically.
