Parallels, or Pair of “L’s”: London or Leipzig

It’s been busy. No other way to look at it. But time to move on.

This post was interrupted repeatedly by everything that was going on around me and it’s nearly the end of April and it will be my only post for the month. So what have I seen and where have I been?

I’ve spent the better part of the month just one block from “the most dangerous street in Germany.” Well, that’s what a newspaper claimed after police raided various locations that were associated with gangs and organized crime on one stretch of the Eisenbahnstraße in Leipzig. I visited Berlin several times, a place I have much fondness for and it didn’t fail to remind me why I love visiting it. I’ve seen faces and places that have left an impression, either by the photos I’ve made or the memories I now carry. So here’s a few with more to follow — I promise.

Spring finally arrived here and even five floors up, one finds a way to enjoy it:

Through windows, open windows…

We walked around the town, discovering more of it and wishing we had months to do nothing but that…

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
Perspective…

… for it is a town filled with music and the reminders of those who made it:

The Thomaskircheplatz, and a hero

And there’s much here, visually —

Plastered on a wall

… or painted on…
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
One on top of the other, becoming archaeological.

And the faces…

That’s all for now… I still have the two trips to Berlin and unfortunately, I’m going to be traveling for a bit. But I will return with more to share.

Leipzig, ich muß Dich lassen.

A tout a l’heure.
